Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program
On January 1st, 2015, applicants who qualify under Federal Skilled Trades Program will be selected to apply through the Express Entry System.
Eligibility requirements are:
- At least 2 years of full-time work experience in an eligible skilled trade in last 5 years
- Obtain a qualifying offer letter of full-time employment for at least one year from up to two Canadian employers or
- Obtain a certificate of qualification in skilled trade issued by a province or territory; and
- Fulfil the minimum language levels in English or French; Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB) 5 for listening and speaking, and CLB 4 for writing and reading.
- Major Group 72, electrical, industrial, and construction trades
- Major Group 73, equipment operation, maintenance trades
- Major Group 82, technical jobs and supervisors in natural resources, agriculture, and related production
- Major Group 92, manufacturing, processing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
- Minor Group 632, cooks, and cooks
- Minor Group 633, bakers, and butchers
